Jo's Story
That's me and my husband Mike, a month after his triple by-pass. We're doing very well, been married 29 years, plenty of ups and downs, ad 3 great kids. The oldest Adam just came back from Peace Corps and is looking for employment in D.C.. Middle child (and all that entails!) Daniel is a high school math teacher, and baby girl Rebekah is in grad school back east, in environmental science. I taught for a few years, retired to look after my husband who we discovered over the years has epilepsy---that's been quite a journey; he is now retired too. We live in the house he grew up in near Oakland; it needs a lot of work, but isn't it true that when you have the money you don't have the time, and vice-versa. I gues...Expand for more

I try to grow food in the back yard; that's a slow go. I also write, had a few nibbles over the years but nothing published, yet. I don't know who the person is in the mirror with all that gray hair. Don't feel old...love to hike and ride my bike, take a conversational French class now and again. Not waiting for grandchildren, exactly, but do spoil my two semi-feral indoor kittles.
Can't believe someone signed my book from Northridge Elementary! Man, I loved that school : )
