I went to Duwamish from 1st grade til 6th, in October of 63 the school was moved to the old Central Elementary School because the building was deemed a fire hazard. o Jaymie MacGuire- Henderickson and her sister Cindy. My fondest memories of Duwamish was the Square Dances on Friday nights and the annual Spring Festival. My favorite teacher was my first grade teacher Mrs. Ruth Hurd. I remember her having us kids line up ,boys on one side girls on the other, and leading us in prayer before lunch everyday.
