Joanne's Story
Thank God I'm a liberal! Compassion, human decency and civility seem to be out of style these days. Of late I'm trying to keep abreast of the destruction of our constitution and laws while also indulging in my hobbies of data based earthquake forecasting and genealogy.
Like many others, I made the move to Florida to support my elderly mother who will turn 90 this year (2017). I was stunned when I heard a jet from the Naval Base I lived right next to crashed into an apartment building close to where I used to live in Virginia Beach a couple years after my move. Timing is everything.

The older I get, the more humorous life gets. I've taken Harriet Hayes advice, who said through the pen of Aaron Sorkin "If Jesus is your co-pilot, you're in the wrong seat." There by the grace of God go I.
Life is never a given. Live each day in gratitude and without regret. Be whoever you want to be and stand up for people who are either too afraid or too exhausted to stand up for themselves. Be thankful for all the little gifts in each and every day and remember, karma is your friend if you respect it. :)
