Joanne's Story
Life
After High School I took many jobs. I finally ended up at Lucky's and met my husband there. Tell yah the truth I hated him when I met him and had a boyfirend that was beginning to talk about marrying me, so Brad was the last guy I'd look at. Needless to say his persistance finally won me over and we have been together for 18 years now, but married for 15. We have 2 terrific daughters and I do EVERYTHING with them. I was the classroom Mom, Parent volunteer, Girl Scout Leader for both girl's troop and now Asst. Cheer Coordinator for the organization my girls belong to. I guess my helping out rubbed off on the kids because both of them volunteer to help when and where ever they can.
We moved to Plumas Lake (That's just 6 miles south of Marysville on Hwy. 70) about 3 years ago after being in Newark for 15 years (Brad a lot longer than that). At first it was difficult to get used to. But with a new house and lots of work to do and now getting involved with the kids activities I'm feeling better about it. Of couse I'd rather be in Newark than here. I miss my old stomping grounds and routines a lot.

School
OK, some of my closest friends at the time remember my Freshman crush on a Senior named Paul. For some reason I just thought he was the best thing since sliced bread!! Anyway, one day he decided to be late for 1st period and hang out on the bleachers in the gym. I too, was running late and ran into the gym with my shoes in my hands, not knowing the floor had been just been waxed. I fell on my back!!! As I spun in a full circle I put my shoes on my stomach, put my hands behind my head, crossed my legs and continued to slide straight to my number. I got greeted by Mr. Short with a "Number 34, Workover, graceful entrance. Put your shoes on so you can lead warm ups."
I looked up and around the gym after Jen Young pointed out our guests and turned beet red!!! As much as I loved Short's class, I really hated to be there that day. Needless to say, I tried to keep a really low profile for the next couple of days so I wouldn't run into Paul. This was my most embarrassing moment in school.
