Joanne's Story
Life
animals and medicine are my two biggest loves..I finally got my RN after a series of setbacks and worked at Boston University Hospital for a while then Lowell General.I moved to Ct. for a while but came back to MA to help care for my mother. She is now 92 and we moved to Florida to escape the winters of MA. My girls are still in the northeast and I have a 18 year old grandson who is the apple of my eye and entered college in Sept. of 06. No more horses at the present time:too expensive and I'm getting too old for all that work! However, if I win the lotto, I would get another horse and plenty of land for all the other critters I would like to have. For the present time, I make do with watching the cranes and squirrels, but stay away from the alligators! I would like to hear from Sandee Olsen from BCH and Kathleen Donovan from BMHS..we lost touch years ago and I regret that very much. I think back on my days at Billerica Memorial and Boston City Hospital with many fond memor...Expand for more
ies: those were the best years of my life..It would be nice to have a reunion, even if we had to share it with another class..Getting myself healthier and in better shape is now my priority...and it's harder as we get older,,,but it's not impossible..I am feeling better mentally and physically now than I have for the past 8 years...and owe it mostly to exercise and better eating choices..We all may be getting older, but we CAN get better!
College
the time I spent at BCH were the best of my life..I wish some of my friends and I had stayed in touch.. I did get my RN from Lowell General Hospital eventually : would have prefered BCH,but ended up working at University Hospital (down the street from BCH) in 1974==how ironic.At present I am not working outside the home here in Florida- just taking care of 92 year old mom and husband who had a hemorrhagic stroke in 97 but who is doing well. Would love to hear from some of the girls I trained with while at BCH,esp Sandee Olson. CIAO.
