Jodi's Story
Life
Hmmm...it has been a long time since I thought about those long Golden Hawk hallways...although I do occasionally have a recurring dream that I have to go back to finish a US History class for some reason--perhaps guilt from learning ALSOLUTELY NOTHING in that class.
Well since that one Memorial Day years ago when we ahem "visited" the school and skateboarded down the hallways (was that a dream or did it really happen?), I've lived a semi-full (and law-abiding)life. I've been to CMU where I discovered that partying 5 out of 7 days a week is not conducive to a healthy GPA (Somehow I managed to earn a C in philosophy--I have no idea how--I went to class a whopping 8 or 9 times).
Shortly after being academically dismissed from CMU, I joined the Army for a two-year stint. Not much to tell there, except I met my husband, Jason the day after boot camp let out. No it wasn't love at first sight, but we did start dating seriously a few months later, and got married in 1990.
Shortly after I got pregnant with my son, Bush Sr. set his sights on ...Expand for more
some black gold, and we were encouraged to find a nanny, cuz we're going to war. I said, "I'm outta here!" and got out. Hubby went to war, and 9 months later, he met his three- month-old son when he returned victorious.
Jason finshed at Ft. Hood, and we moved to his home state, Washington. We both earned our degrees from Washington State University in 1995.
Since that time, I have been living in Washington teaching at an alternative high school--remember Horizons High School?--my school is very similar to that one. I earned a Masters in 2000, and will probably be going back to WSU for a doctorate in the next five or six years.
UPDATE: My little boy is graduating! I'm planning on getting my National Board Certification for teaching, and I spend a lot of time in sports--watching and doing..I was kinda' a tomboy before I discovered boys, now I'm going back to my roots. (I smell better than I did then, though, and no dirty elbows!)
I'm on a team for the Portland to Coast walk in August--last year we placed 4th--this year we're aiming for gold!
