Jodi's Story
Life
My Spouse
We met through friends. We have been married since August 1999. This is the second marriage for both of us. I was previously married from 1986 to 1988.
My Pets
I have three cats, Katie, Claire, and Merlin. Katie is a ten year old tortoise shell, and Claire is a seven year old calico tabby. Merlin is two years old, and is a brown tabby.
My Kids
Megan is my stepdaughter. She is twelve and lives with her mother in Green Bay, WI.
My Job
I have graduated from St. Cloud State University, summa cum laude, and am currently working through a temp service while I look for a permanent job. I still write on the side, but am looking for an editing postition or a position involving writing of some kind. I have my own business and sell stuff at a couple of Science Fiction Conventions in Minnesota, North Dakota, and Wisconsin.
School
I was pretty shy in high school and marched to the beat of my own drummer. I am still like that, in a way, but ...Expand for more
I'm much more outgoing now. I was in tennis in 10th grade, although only on the B squad. I did enjoy it a lot. I was much better at OEMA, for which I got a couple of trophies at one of the meets.
College
I have graduated from St. Cloud State University, with a degree in English: Creative Writing. I also have a minor in Anthropology. I am thinking about going on to a grad school to get an MA in English Literature, and just took my GRE to prepare for this. This will allow me to teach college-level English literature and riting. I am also currently writing short stories, poetry, and am working on a novel.
Workplace
Even though there was no chance for me to use my writing skills while I was at Fairway Foods, I enjoyed working there with all the wonderful people that I will forever call my friends. My only complaint is that I couldn't get promoted without a degree. And now that I'll soon have a degree, that will not be the type of job I choose. Ironic, isn't it?
