Joe's Story
Life
After leaving Kingsway,I attended West Virginia University where I majored in Aeronautical Engineering and I participated in track and field. University life was interesting and fun. I made a lot of friends and did a lot of partying.
I joined the Navy after I left WVU. I serviced onboard a nuclear powered submarine the uss James Monroe. I was stationed in beautiful Hawaii and operated out of Guam. My crew spent 3 months in Hawaii and 3 month on the submarine, 2 of the 3 months was spent under the water on patrol. Very few people have had the experience of service on a nuclear powered submarine. After serving 4 years on submarine duty, I was an instructor at the Naval Submarine Training Center at Peral Harbor HI teaching navigation systems.
I left the active Navy and joined the US Navy Reserves and retired after 22 years of service.

San Diego as a manufacture engineerer when I left the active Navy. While working for HP, I worked on several successful projects and did trade shows in Vega and Chicargo. I also got to visit Spain when I helped set up a manufacturing production line at a plant in Barcelona.
After 20 years of service with HP, I took a voluntary early retirement and went to work for the Home Depot. Presently I working as a Project Manager for Tashman Construction. We help open new Home Depot stores and do re-model on older stores in the West, Northwest, Alaska and Hawaii. Sometimes I do a lot of traveling in these areas.
My family lives in San Marcos CA, which is about 45 miles from downtown San Diego. I'm a Charger fan and my grandson LT (Little Ty) is a Chargers fan.
I love San Diego, there is so much to keep you busy here...the mountains, the ocean, the beaches and lots of sunny days.
