Joe's Story

I have a degree in "Primitive and Modern Wilderness Skills". What does that mean??? It means I'm 1 step closer to becoming recognized as a Master Bushman.... Still many more years until that happens thou.... If you're looking it up, the brits call it bushcraft but most of North America calls it Wilderness Survival.... I personally stick with bushcraft. Currently I earn my paychecks as the webmaster to 1 big Aussie company and 2 small business sites in Canada. It barley gets the bills paid, but it gives me the freedom to get out to the bush or chill out with the guitar and record something.... Eventually I want to open a real bushcraft school. nly 1 in Cape Breton that I know of. I guess technically it would be the only bushcraft-specific school in Nova Scotia.... Anyway.... This ain't no resume`.... Going through the idea box on the side hear, it says, "Life doesn¿t always turn out the way you expect. What¿s been your biggest surprise?" Remembering back to a typical day in Holy Cross... I guess my biggest surprise would be that I still like doing most of the stuff I did back then. For instance, I still build cabins in the woods and I still make bows and arrows. But now, the cabins have turned into survival shelters and bows I make are now for the next hunting season and have to be strong enough to stop a black bear in the highlands....and I'll leave this at that.
