Joe's Story
After graduating from high school I went to Marietta College in Ohio for one semester then returned to Ct. Went to UCONN at the Waterbury branch for 3 semesters. Then did my Jr. and Sr. years at the main campus in Storrs. Majored in Psychology, minor in Sociology. I joined the American Society for Psychical Research, as this was a major interest for me. After college, I worked in the laboratory at Eagle Pencil Co. in Danbury, Ct.
In 1967 [The Summer of Love] I moved to San Francisco. I learned pottery and took over a ceramics school. I successfully ran that for 6 years. I met Barbara there who became my wife. We moved to Occidental, CA [In Sonoma County, north of the Golden Gate] in 1975. We set up a production pottery with a wood and oil fired kiln. In 1981 I was drawn to start putting together a music recording studio. In 1982, I began construction of a professional studio. I completed it with 2 years of work. I recorded an album with the legendary jazz bassist, Ra...Expand for more
y Brown. Tom Waits has also done many projects at the studio the last few years. I am still running it now after 26 years.
Many things caused Barbara and myself to divorce.
In 1987, I also began to study massage at a school in Sebastopol, CA. I graduated 2 years later, having done 1200 hours of study in various therapies.
In massage school I met Sally, who became and still is my wife now.
I went into private practice along with the music recording, as a dual career.
I went to work at Osmosis Enzyme Baths in Freestone, CA as a massage therapist in 1992 where I continue to work today.
We have a 15 year old son, Evan. He is in 9th grade and in an Artquest digital arts program at Santa Rosa High School.
For the last 3 yrs I have been taking classes at Santa Rosa Junior College in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, Dreamweaver, Web Programming and Design. I am starting to design websites for others. I'll be relocating my recording business soon. Money is short but life is good!
