Joe's Story
Life
Let's see...after high school I stayed around town to pursue the music thing but after a couple of years I knew that wasn't going to happen so...I joined the Army in 1990 as an infantry soldier. I did 5 months in the middle east during the first gulf war with Bravo Troop 1/4 Cav and was later stationed at Ft. Riley, KS. I got out in 1993 and went to school at Kansas State University where I graduated with a degree in Microbiology in 1997. After a couple of years working in a reasearch lab on campus and one unsuccessful attempt to enter medical school, I decided to get a business degree.
In May 2001, I received my MBA from Kansas State University and went to work for Payless ShoeSource in Topeka, KS as a merchandise business analyst. ...Expand for more
If you bought any shoes there from 2001-2006, I probably had something to do with one of your purchases. I left there this past fall as a financial planner and went to work for Sears Holdings in Chicago. I am currently a business manager and oversee the Men's footwear division so if you bought any Men's shoes from Sears, I probably had something to do with your purchase. I currently live in Lincoln Park and enjoy the big city but oddly enough I really miss Lawrence, Kansas.
On a personal note, I have been married once (back in college) and have a soon-to-be 11 yr old girl who loves dance, the theater, and Chicago stuffed crust pizza. I still play a little guitar now and then but mostly I try to spend as much time with my friends and family.
