Joe's Story

"You Know (Union)" Give me the black pen, Give me the white paper, Make my every line testify, No meaning mine gone awry. Throw me, throw me from the shade, Remove night¿s masquerade, Let me be with morning. Pull us, come and pull us in. Pull, so we can listen. Make it so we can listen. Pull us, In. Ring, ring one bell, Ring the bell we must know. Ring the one that gives us hope, Ring that bell. ~apoembyjosepheweiss "Libra 581" Took us 20 years to get here But we made it in one piece, Shot like a beam of light, Searching far into the night, And now we are here for good. She is ours to keep. The other one, we put her to sleep, Blue pearl choked to ashen gray. She could not take us anymore, She would not let us stay. Now we gaze across golden plains, Purple mountains fringe valley wide. The huge red sun sets so slowly, Owning the horizon, Leaving little spacious sky, He seems forever in our eyes. He will not wave goodbye. -apoembyjosepheweiss "Starshining" a dream oh, what if it wasn't, and we were there, on the shore near the wood we walk, the sun follows softly, falling like the cool waterfall falling over our nakedness... we have opened freed our love, it sings like the trees leaves kissing, rustling... i touch your face with my palm you take hold the horizon slopes upward, then it slopes down, we are on top the little worlds finally fall... starshining eyes see don't blink away dream... ~apoembyjosepheweiss Joe "No water, No boat" And they came running in, They fell down the steps Into the cellar dust, They tried to move but Pieces of them dropped, Some picked up, Most cast away Again.. They came running in Crying out loud Some heard Even listened to But then cast away Again, Floating up Into filled attics, New ways, Smiling faces, Lost within Tiny pieces of paper, Fluttering out of pockets And hands Competing with wallets, Change more important Than change. They find their lost way Through what has been made Without them, Travelling with heart and pulse Then abandoned between Burned-out synapses Just wishing to get through The necessary day. ~apoembyjosepheweiss The kids must shout and shake their bones Oh, man what have we done? Where has the TV. gone? We change the channel now. We are for sure going down, Pulling hard on bottom rung; Grip, fast on sliding ladders. Paparazzi film death row; Misc-en-scene for kept stars. Yeah man, we¿ve gone that far. Oh, woman, can you believe it? You opened the door and let him through it. Southern man zeitgeist next here; Woman, you go the distance. Oh, Kid, it can¿t be true. You¿re too young to pull this out; Your fans, too young to shout. Oh, Kid, tall and shining, Yo...Expand for more
u¿re too young for this joust Your fans, too young to rout. Oh, King, you know we care. You¿re the one who brought us here. You¿re the one who made this true. Oh, King, of many colors, You know you are the best. Oh, Queen, you wear the crest. -apoembyjosepheweiss Drill Baby Drill Drill Baby Drill Roll on in, Roll on in you dealers, Keep dealing us the machines that are killing us... We are gambling the skin off our backs, Drilling to the core till there's no marrow left. We are fat off machines, insulation we don't need... We know the smokes will kill the smoker So we tax 'em heavy cause they're a-going... Cars are the engines of Depression and fatalist, John Deere leaps for ear plugs.. . So Roll on in, roll on in you dealers. Keep mining hard with cyanide by your side We won't get wind that free lunch lives among us... -anotherpoembyjosepheweiss Here's anew poem V.P. Crazy The Veep came on like a Vice- Told straight-talk like China-speak: The things that have happened have not. Mirages like Tienamen Square, The 23 million set aside for bridge no-where, Up and vanished into the cold thin air. What makes people really crazy Is to be told that what they see isn't true, That what lies before them isn't really there. People have become madder than hatters When they vote against their own disposition: Setting the stage for mutual destruction. -anotherpoembyjosepheweiss "Them and Us" in the end our soul begins again in the beginning flower fresh a beginner's winning we lose towards death in the middle who are we we are who come from the sea why we fish then leave our broken line is so beyond me we will only use another more plastic than before from sea to tree through you and me we abuse all the things we were before... -anotherpoembyjosepheweiss Life Hey longlost spartans, hope everyone is enjoying life! Let's see, I went to UC for a year (broke several bones in my nose playing rugby), then in 1984 I was off to Indiana University for a degree in Anthroplogy and Ultimate Frisbee (we were Regional and BigTen champs!). Then, after seeing Paul McCartney in Chicago, I moved to Montana and worked in mental health with the 7 Montana Indian Reservations, managed group homes, and played Ultimate Frisbee for the Bozo's of Bozeman. Recently I have migrated to the East Coast and now live in Newport Rhode Island. I work for the Dept. Mental Health, live on the beach and play Ultimate with the Newport team. I just saw Kate Blanchette perform on stage in NYC which was outstanding....hmmm, anyway, how have you been, what goes on with you all, I wonder.....?
