Joe's Story
School
School was not my favorite place, The only enjoyable part of it was in meeting people and being able to socialize. Because I had attended schools in neighboring towns rather than in Finderne, I was blessed in getting to know people from quite a few areas instead of just one. Today as I go through the lists of the schools I am amazed at just how many I do remember.
Military
Seabee's ,,1960 to 1965.
Boot camp at Great Lakes. temp duty in Fallon, Nevada. Port Hueneme ca. Adak alaska. two tours, and then Midway Island. not much incentive for reenlistment.
Got married at the ripe old age of 23, and it took; by the grace of God we just celebrated 43 years. I've got better than good woman, she is all I need or want. we have three children all living in california. we are currently in portervil...Expand for more
le, ca. with hopes of going into the sierra's again. Tahoe would be our first choice, but finances brings us to anywhere that we can pitch a tent. I currently drive school bus , high school students. I am semi retired and love doing it. but mostly because I love all the students, and especially just being there for them.
My other activities are Volunteer chaplain at kern valley state prison. campground chaplain with california parks ministry, the ministry pays for our campsite. we are not part of any state agency.
All in all , I am blessed in Jesus Christ and have the full assurance of eternal life through His atoning death on the cross and the knowledge that He is alive, death could not keep Him down nor will it keep me down. For I have been raised with Him.
