Joel (Ace)'s Story

Workplace for the latest information, just find me at the website where everyone has their myspace. for my profile go to the site and forwards slash, . . . . . ./ thelatindaddyjoel .................... currently i am in the Marine Corps. after i graduated from high school i joined the military. its been a great adventure and it will be my time to seperate from the service in one year as of jun.19th. i have been to many places and i can not lie but it has been well worth it. i have learned about life and i have learned what it takes to be a leader. i learned many skills that have thought me to make it in life. i will be going to school once i get out of here. update: i have been out of the military as of june 19,2005. It is great to be home once again. Although it was difficult to start from scratch again, i enjoy it. i am attending Houston Community College and on the verge of getting this job that i have been longing for. there is more that i would like to say but if you would like to drop a message. You can instant message me to my screen name, mono503 Respectfully to all, joel ruiz Military For those that know me and to those that may not my name is Joel M. Ruiz. i joined the Marine Corps straight out of high school. Unlike many of my friends I had no time for parties. After my graduation I went straight to boot camp. I went to boot camp Jun 19, 2000 and graduated on Sept.15,2000. I went through MCT then to my school for amphibious assault(driving amtracks:an armore...Expand for more
d vehicle)which gave me the chance to drive a million dollar vehicle that drives on land and water. I spent about a year in California. Off i was to Okinawa,Japan where I also traveled to Fuji,Main Land Japan,Tokyo and Thailand. When i returned from Okinawa I spent half a year in California and off i was again but this time to Kuwait then Iraq. Being in the front lines during war is pretty hard.I learned alot about life. Never in my life have i felt more alive as I am being shot at by Iraqi Republican Guard with AK-47's and RPG's. To everyone, take advantage of what life has to offer. If there is anyone in this world that you care for, tell her/him. Why, because when your life is on the edge, you wish that the one you care for knew what you feel for them. Now that I made it through the war I will not take anyone for granted. Being hurt is temporary but regrets will kill you. Remember, life is beautiful and having people that care for us are miracles. take care you all. Many people join the military and question if they should join the ranks. i say, go for it. why, because it sucks at times. but trust me, you learn to appreciate life that much more than the other guy that just sat on his ass doing nothing. the military, teaches you lessons in life that many will fail to learn. i am not telling you to enlist, but if you would like to see who your real friends are. you will see because those that write to you during hard times such as war, will always be there for you. During war and after. you all take care love joel
