John's Story
I lived in Leoville from 1952 until 1961 when we moved to Spiritwood. My father worked for Adjutor Laventure during that time at the Travellers hotel. My mother did alot of helping people in their time of need. I hung around with Marcel Laventure and Edward , Edna,and Paul Gaumond, Art Riel and Maurice Laventure, Francis Buckley, Richard Laventure and Norman Lepage and Maurice Lepage that lived on the hill by Lavoie's. y and the pool hall down stairs from the Northern lights theater for several years, until the big fire swept the main street. Their names were Frank and Germaine Carriere. I now live in the Vanscoy area on a 50 acre parcel and raise 30 Ponies of the Americas along with my wife Diane. We have 4 children 2boys and 2 girls and have 5 grand children, whom all live within 10 miles of us. We also have owned and operated Galaxy Maintenance for the last 20 years.
