Life
live in Haslet texas, married barbie allen, have two boys:nate and jeff, work for the federal aviation administration, fly my planes whenever i can, go to the albuquerque balloon fiesta every october for the last 35 years only missed one due to desert storm, been to southeast asia(vietnam), and southwest asia(desert storm) only took 22 years to figure out the army didn't want me so i retired in 1991. Been working for the FAA ever since. Live in the country but the city is moving out to us. Love working on my cars and my planes. Retired from FAA in 2010 and I'm busier than I ever was.
Military
went to basic training in ...Expand for more
ft. lewis washingtonin 1969, then flew across the u.s. to ft carson colorado. trained in helicopters for about a year and half. (my oldtimers won't let me remember exact times :) ). Then went to ft. sill okla. for on the job training for about six months then went to vietnam (good training for the real thing). After dodging bullets for a year was reassigned to ft.carson colorado. Then went to phoenix az. assigned to an aviation maint company. Then went to santa fe n.m. and assigned to a medivac helicopter company. Went to saudi arabia (1st desert storm), so my retirement was delayed. Then retired from the army in 1991.
