John's Story
Life
Joined the Air Force three days after graduation. Saw the world, and I don't mean 12 countries in 8 days. Retired from the U.S. Air Force after 26 and 1/2 years on 1 January, 1990. Started the decade off right. Job offer was made as Facility Manager of Topeka Philip Billard Federal Contract Air Traffic Control Tower. any where in town in about 15 minutes and traffic jams only occur on the Wanamaker Corridor. I had a great wife and I have a great home. Soon it will be time to enter another phase of my life. I loved my work, but l I retired from air traffic control on June 30th, 2014. I lost my lovely bride of over 30 years, February 28th of 2015. I turned 70, 8 days later. It was not a festive day. Life goes on and I am now 75 and looking forward to returning to Ohio, after all of these years.
