How many of us can say that we have served as mayor of the third largest city in the commonwealth?
How about having made a credit presentation to S&P and Moody's that resulted in a three step jump in our organization's credit rating, or winning the Government Finance Officers' Association award for Excellence in Financial Reporting, setting up the computer, financial and budgeting systems for an HMO and a medical school, when computers were...Expand for more
in their infancy (think 1982 - 1990 that is, pre-mega-(fergeddabout GIGA)byte RAM days)?
And, how many of us really hated doing all of that, even though we were good at it, and yearned to do something more fulfilling, like spending time raising our own children, and then spending time mentoring and teaching children we did not know until we met them?
That has been my path. Now I enjoy both my grandchildren and the students I work with.
