John's Story

As I remember, St. Stephen's School was a fine place to grow up in. I remember a lot of fun times throughout the years. Afterward, I split my high school years between Amboy High and Perth Amboy Vo-Tech H.S. where I immensely enjoyed the Electronics Program. -- So about my employment: My first job was delivering newspapers, it was quite enjoyable at age eleven/twelve; I also worked weekends at the Market St. Carwash; Then evenings at the Maple St. A&P; I hung aluminum siding; Sold Roast Beef Sandwiches; Drove a forklift at Fedders Corp; Loaded and delivered food items for Flagstaff Corp. -- Afterwards, I spent four years in the Air Force, which included one year in Thailand in 1972/73 during the Vietnam War. was truly quite the experience. Shortly after being Honorably Discharged from the Air Force -- I used the GI Bill to help pay for a computer course I took in NYC in 1976/77. After starting, I knew I had found my passion in life and did amazingly well going forward. I landed a great job with the Data General Corp. in 1977 and later with two other subsequent companies and spent the next twenty-seven years enjoying what I did best. -- I married my lovely wife Sharon in 1983 and she gave birth to our beautiful daughter Nicole and beautiful son Ryan shortly thereafter. -- We built a nice house in Old Bridge in 1985. And in 1997 we built a fabulous house in Freehold Township, NJ and are now retired and taking it easy.
