Life
Not much new. Dropped High School. Joined the US Navy. Puttered around there, Went in the US Army. Got out on Disability. Have about 3.5 years towards a Physics degree. Have been doing the Gypsy thing, move from state to state( can't anchor anywhere - tooooo boring!. Got a wonderful Son, very proud of him!, Wife is great too.! Currently in the Merchant Marines (American Maritime Officers Union).
Just got back from Antarctica.
Was in Singapore, Thailand, India, UAE the trip before. And on a Research Ship (R/V Davidson) prior to that- looking for lost oil rigs from Katrina and Rita in the Gulf of Mexico.
Looking forward to returning to the Indian Ocean - service to Our country kinda thing.
Been there, done that!!!

Started in the Navy in Dec 1974. Co. 392, Orlando, Fl. First Ship was USS Howard W. Gilmore(AS-16)- B2E FireRoom. 1976-1978 USS Hunley(AS-31) -FER- Boilers/Evaps, AER, etc. 1978-1978 Great Lakes-GM Diesel Tech School.
1978-1981 US NAVSTA ANNAPOLIS, MD. Engineer -YP 658/659
Craftmaster YP 667/664(NEC BM0162 awarded).
1981- Great Mistakes- Fairbanks Morse Diesel Tech school.
1981-1984- USS California (CGN-36) A Div- reallly bad time for me.1984-1985- tried civland
1985- Navet Training, Great Lakes.
1985-1987 Chief Engineer YTB 809, Agawam.
1987 Wanted to be an "O". Accepted to US Army WO Prog. Ft. Sill, Ok.. Dropped. went to Ft. Eustis, Va. LCU 1674 (?). Lasted a year, Sailors don't dig foxholes very well???
And, in between all this, have service with US Army Reserve, and Maryland National Guard.
