John's Story
After high school I had a brief encounter with the real world unloading car batteries with Mike Stewart at BEBCO. That lasted about 4 months, and then started school at Jeff St. and joined the Alabama Air National Guard. Six years later I graduated from UAB, after spending 1 1/2 years at UA, working my way through college. m UAB, I went to work for FDIC, which regulates banks for the government. This lasted 11 years, and then I went to work in the private sector of banking and have been there ever since. If you are still reading this, I got married in 1978 to my present wife Ginny, and have 3 children (1 is adopted). Im not sure my teachers in high school would have pegged me to be a banker, but anybody can change if they work at it hard enough. johnnytuck is my old nickname, from Tuck Tape.
