John's Story
Life
After graduating from Waterloo Lutheran University (Wilfred Laurier) In 1971 with a degree in Geography I attended Toronto Teacher's College for one year graduating in 1972. In the Fall of 72 I began work as a teacher in York Region at Schomberg Public School. Being a city boy I had to look Schomberg up on the map. It is at the corner of #27 & #9 highway about 10km west of Newmarket. I still live in the village today. e from oise. I married in 1976. My wife's name is Patricia and we have two grown children both graduates of the University of Waterloo. The youngest Stephanie with a BA and the oldest Jennifer with a Bsc and masters degree on the way. Both will attend Queens University in the Fall for teacher training. I am now retired and own my own business making cedar outdoor furniture and pine and oak tables in shaker style. Life has been good to me we own a cottage in Haliburton and summer there each year now for 20 years.
