John's Story
Life
U.S. Air Force from 67-71....Married to Susan (Countryman)Dailey from 1969-2002.....divorced and remarried to Mary (Mabry)Dailey in 2002.....have worked for Delta Air Lines since 71....travelled extensively to Ireland, Greece, Germany, England, Scotland, France, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, Israel, The Netherlands and Luxembourg....was volunteer for the 2002 Winter Olympics and Paralympics in Salt Lake City.....have lived in Utah for 22 years....getting close to retirement (I Hope!!)...one daughter, Gena (26), flight attendant for Skywest Airlines
Will retire April 1, 2005 with 33 years....Mary and I have bought a house in Fort Smith, Arkansas and will be moving there this spring
School
Went to Millbrook School (wasn't called Middle School, then) from 54 to 58.....the school had grades 1 thru 8 in it....downstairs there were two classrooms....one had grades 1 and 2 and the other had 3...Expand for more
-4-5....upstairs was 6-7-8.....for recess someone was chosen to ring the bell.....after 4th grade I went to Yorkville Grade School and graduated from Yorkville High School in 66
Workplace
Started with Delta in Chicago in 71...worked there in Air Cargo for 8 1/2 years....then went to Shreveport, LA for almost 2 years and then moved to SLC in 82 and have been here ever since....presently working in Air Logistics (since 88)
Retired on April 1st, 2005
Military
Went into the USAF in 67 and went to Basic Training at Amarillo AFB....from there to tech school at Sheppard AFB....first duty station was a remote, 1 year tour at Shemya AFS, AK...in the Aleutians....from there to Travis AFB, CA for 2 1/2 years until separation.....was out 7 years and then went into the AF Reserve at O'Hare airport in Chicago.....then transferred to a reserve unit at Barksdale AFB, LA...got out of reserves in 83
