John "Sam"'s Story
Military
In 1990 I decided to join the Navy. My first assignment was onboard the USS Caron (1992-1996), which was a guided missile destroyer. I traveled to Europe, Russia, Africa, the Caribbean, South America and Southwest Asia. The only continents that I have not been to is Australia and of course Antarctica.
I lived in Spain for 3 years (1996-1999) and absolutely loved it and would like to go back. I also served onboard the USS ...Expand for more
Eisenhower for 3 years and a two different shore based communication and Surveillance stations.
I then moved back to Virginia Beach, Virginia and I am currently (2005) still residing here. I am now a Naval leadership instructor at the Naval Amphibious Base Little Creek, Virginia. I am also working on my PhD in Industrial / Organizaitonal Psychology part time and plan to retire from the Navy in about 2010 or maybe a few years longer.
