John's Story
After going to Essex Catholic High School I went on to Montclair State College with the intention of becoming a draftsman or something to do with the mechanical drawing field. I had taken a half a year of typing and a half year of mechanical drawing as Essex -- both of which served me well later in life.
At Montclair State college I majored in Industrial Arts, and came away with a B.A. and a K-12 teaching degree for Industrial Arts.
It was in my junior year at Montclair State when I met my wife and we were married. I proposed to her four times before she would accept...... But for me it was love at first sight!
I taught mechanical drawing and woodshop at a Junior high in Middletown township New Jersey for a year, and then became disenchanted with teaching (it became more of a babysitting job than a teaching assignment). I worked part-time as a machinist while going to college...... So I fell back on that trade to support my wife and myself for the next 4 years.
I became really interested in machines that were controlled by computers, such as lathes and milling machines, etc., and I wanted to learn how to program these. I found an entry level programming job with Dresser Industries up in Stratford Connecticut. I worked for them for four and a half years....... And then for other companies here in New Jersey doing manufacturing engineering work (CNC programming). Eventually I was put in charge of running an inspection laboratory.

fe movement, and I committed myself to doing pro-life work full time -- mostly doing abortion rescuing at the clinics. Of course this resulted in being thrown into jail (here and in Europe) for blocking the doorways of the killing Chambers.
When I got back from Europe I tried to get back into manufacturing engineering again, but no matter how many interviews I went on nobody would hire me. So I started doing temp work for an agency (typing, filing, key punch, etc.)...... For 3 years.
But God had other plans for me. In 1993 I had a large sum of money dumped in my lap -- but I did not ask for and did not want (..... but God did). The money was to be used to open and run a home to accommodate traveling Catholic priests who would pass through the Northeast area of New Jersey. And so it was spent for that purpose...... And I ran this home for 16 years in Clifton.
In 2009 I sold the home (God showed me it was time) and went to work for Good Counsel Homes - charitable organization that takes in homeless pregnant women off the streets and keeps them for up to a year in one of their homes (there are 5) until they can give birth to their baby and get a new start in life. That job was extremely rewarding, knowing that you were an instrument in God's hands to help save a human life and his/her mother and give them a new start -- rather than have the baby end up in a garbage can in back of the abortion mill.
In April of 2014 I retired and am currently living in Verona New Jersey.
