John's Story

Life Marines: ranks Private (infantry) through Colonel (aviator). Vietnam a couple of times. Test pilot. Actually spent a couple of years in the Navy but don't usually mention it. Construction: Worked for Boeing, Dravo Coporation, Vecillio and Grogan, H.O. Dye Construction (father); founded own construction firm. After leaving the business community: Faculty member, Florida International University, College of Engineering, Department of Construction Management. Teacher from 1993 until 2000. Chair of Department from 2001 through 2003. Retired from faculty in 2004. A handful of other decorations which are not personal things. Publications: about thirty journal and magazine articles in several areas: flight test, construction management, personnel management, and business administration. Gracefully retired, playing with my grandchildren and writing a couple of books.
