John's Story
Life
Hey everyone. It's Thursday and it's garbage day - did you remember to take out the trash?
In case you wondered where I've been... here's a short history.
1979 - 1984 : Grantsville, Utah (GHS)
1984 - 1990 : Logan, Utah (USU)
1990 - 2006 : SLC, Utah & China (Various high-tech jobs)
2006 - Present : Texas and Germany
I've changed my last name to Robinson out of respect for my grandmother who really carries our family name.
I graduated from USU back in 1990 with a degree in Math & Physics. While in college I met some dudes who I thought were mormon missionaries - turns out they were born again christians. So in 1987 I became one too. I'm currently living and working in Germany with my family. I call Austin, Texas my home now. I work for AMD - a great company. I married late - finally tied the knot at age 31. Subsequently, my kids are still young. Laura is 8, Luke is 6 and Lily is 4. My wife Yue Qiu (pronounced Yoo-chew) is from Beijing, China. She's a keeper. I'd love to get together with any of you next time I'm in G-ville area. Useful Info......Expand for more

Some fond memories of high school:
- Getting a lap-dance from Deb, Ginger & Diana on my 18th birthday.
- Watching our school burn down on 2/12/84... not a fond memory but burned into my mind. It's ironic that our homecoming theme that year was "Blaze of glory".
- Receiving help from the Fawson family, after our GHS school float had fallen apart due to some insane driving by Courtney Brown and Brook Anderson.
- Breaking my ankle after football practice because we were screwing around on Jeff Bracken's car.
- Our last football game in the fall of 1983 while on the road (and Fred's reaction).
- Track bus trips & listening to Def Leppard. Playing Journey songs for Moana.
- Mr. Beer's History class.
- High school Prom.
- Buying furniture for the student lounge at the "DI".
- Saturday morning basketball with Kent, Bruce & Dickie.
- Walking home through the cemetary whenever I missed the bus.
- Driver's Ed with Mr. Mohler.
- Screaming like crazy to "We Got The Beat" cover by Jeff Hamm's band at the school assembly (1981-ish).
