John's Story
Lets see... Where have I been since High School?
Drank my way through one semester at University of Kentucky.
Joined the Army.
Got Cancer. (I'm much better now)
Got married to Bernice. (Benedik, class of '95) Don't ask about the wedding. I was completely trashed by the time the reception happened. But there were some people from the class in attendence. They may give better insight.
Honeymoon Boston and we also took a Carribean Cruise. Neither were directly after the main event though.
Worked for Blue Shield for about a year.
Got the shits of Blue Shield and went to work for the Federal Government.
Got promoted and moved around there a little. Got a better offer and...
Went to Afghanistan as a contractor for some communications stuff. After 4.5 months the contract was cancelled and I got a free trip home to unemployment. I did get to see airports in Germany and Turkey. I also became acquainted with the airbase at Manas, Krgystan (not looking up the spelling because you probably aren't paying too close of attention anyway and if you are that concerned about it use google and then send me some...Expand for more
smart ass message). I also spent a considerable amount of time in Karsi Khanabad, Uzbekistan. And of course Bagram airfield and Khandahar International (LOL) Airport in Afghanistan.
Came home and watched my son be born in November. 20+ hours of labor and I had to eat my thanksgiving meal from the hospital cafeteria. But it was all worth it.
Then I got a job up at Fort Indiantown Gap doing some communications stuff for the Army. I am now on my third company doing the exact same job at the exact same desk. I have been sent all over the country to work and even got a month and a half in Germany, during Oktoberfest, to help setup a new site.
None of this is overly exciting and I still live in Wormleysburg. 9 years this March.
I have been known to toss back a few drinks. I spend some amount of time researching and creating alcoholic beverages from scratch. I brewed some beer, made some mead... whatever.
As of 19 January 2009 I have given up Copenhagen for good. And since it is immortalized here I have to follow through with it. No particular reason for it other than I just didn't want to do it anymore.
