John Gilbert:  

Life Grew Up in Mechanicsburg til i was almost 9. Moved to the Metropolis of Enola 1972. Moved to Red Land HS my senior year 1981. Entered USAF 1981. I got to travel Europe. I was stationed in Italy and Greece. I ended up Stationed in CA w/ Craig Barnhart and John Kiss. Left the AF in 1985. I Returned to PA. I worked various jobs, including office clerk, store clerk, Radio Installer, EMT, Security Guard, and Garbageman. Entered the State Police Academy in 1986. I moved to Elizabethtown in 1987 being stationed in Lancaster. 1987 My son Connor was born. 1992 I tranferred to Chambersburg. 1994 I transferred to Harrisburg. I retired on Sept 11, 2002. In 2002 I Married then Divorced in 2013. Now being Me enjoying MY Life. I know what love feels like now. Military I went to basic training at Lackland AFB about a month after graduation. I stayed at Lackland for my Security Police training. Initially i was sent to Malstrom AFB Montana. I was dying to go overseas. A fellow Airman had a newborn who needed medical attention. I traded with him to go to Ghedi AB Italy. Ghedi is a Geographically Seperated Unit (GSU). There were only about 100 perm people stationed at the Italian Base. The Italians flew F104Gs. We maintained munitions at the base. While i was there we travelled throughout italy and europe. Eventually we were notified that the base was downsizing due to the Italians switching aircraft.
