John's Story

Roamed aimlessly for several years, lived in Palm Beach County for for a few years (77-80), worked maintenance at the Pontiac Mall while studying graphic design at OCC. Got a job in a graphic design studio (Jack Wolfe Studio) in Bloomfield Hills, built some freelance clientele while I apprenticed. I bought the studio when Jack Wolfe retired, then dove in early to the digerati and developed a new media business in the Detroit area before most did. Changed the name from Gnotek Studio (NO-TECH) to CyberAlley ~ New Media (.CyberAlleyDotCom) and have been doing interactive media and websites since the early 90s with such websites as .TamaroffDotCom (my first) to .HolleyDotCom (my biggest - 20,000 pages) as well as some familiar names as BASF Automotive, FUJI EnviroMAX, as dozens of others. Married 20 years ago (still married, same wife) with three daughters (19), (17) and (2). Yeah two years old. The older daughters got old enough to leave at home, so Jeannie and I began "dating" again. And what happens with dating? Or better yet what can happen? Babies. It's great though. ter having commercial spaces in Bloomfield, West Bloomfield, Birmingham and Milford; so I get to spend a lot of time with my 2 year old. And raise her. I went back to school again in the late 90s to develop interactive storytelling / interactive movies and video. The University of Michigan has a great Film & Video and screenwriting program, so that was my goal -- to study screenwriting. But if any of you know me, high school wasn't my passion and my transcripts showed that. U-M (laughing under their breath) suggested I take like 60 credits at a community college then come see them. So I did. Studied general studies at Oakland Community College, 60+ credits, straight A's--and U_M accepted me in 2001. I studied film and video and took as many screenwriting classes as I could, as well as a variety of other classes of interest¿writing, philosophy, psychology. Didn't go for a degree, but got what I went for. Today, I live in Highland with my family, still maintain some good projects, raise my 2 year old while my wife at Ford Motor Company in Dearborn. I would love to hear from some old souls.
