John's Story
Life
After Dieruff, I attended Lehigh University and graduated with a master's degree in mathematics. From 1972 to 1990 I was a statistician for the state of Pennsylvania. I moved to Phoenix, Arizona, in 1990 and acquired a similar position with the state of Arizona. Some of you who knew me as a math whiz might be disappointed to learn that my current job pays only $27,000 a year. I still enjoy math and do well when I'm sent for job-related training. I enjoy playing blackjack, especially in Las Vegas. I also like more ordinary activities like walking, movies, TV, and of course, math puzzles. What lured me to Phoenix?
