John's Story
I attended school in Dublin for some grade school years and then my sophomore year in high school. After finishing high school at Fishburne Military School in 1950, I went on to graduate from the University of Richmond in 1953 and receive a Ph.D. in Mathematics from the University of Virginia in 1958. After three years as a mathematics professor at Florida State, our family moved to Claremont, California, where I taught until retirement in 1995 as Professor of Mathematics at Harvey Mudd College...Expand for more
. My wife Margaret (deceased) and I had three children who in turn gave us seven grandchildren. After retirement we lived on Orcas Island, Washington for about 16 years where we enjoyed hobby farming, boating between Olympia and Ketchikan and traveling to foreign lands. I now live alone in a high rise condo building in Seattle. With some personal mobility issues, it is doubtful I will visit Virginia again, but I would welcome visits in Seattle by old classmates, or contact at grz at waybread.com
