John's Story
Life
I have been married to the same great lady since 1978 and we have one daughter. She graduated FSU in 2005 and graduated 12/07 from Stetson with a Juris Doctorate. She was married May 2007 at Walt Disney World to a fellow FSU grad (CPA). She received her masters in health care administration from USF IN 2013.
Now retired (sort of). Continuing with residential building design but have decided I've had enough of actually running building projects so I have scaled that way back.
I have pursued my building passion in my professional career. First it was home building, then commercial structures and lately high rise buildings, including the opportunity to work with the Trump Organization. I have also been priviledged to work for the City of Largo for three years and helped improve the City with a renovated and improved Southwest Recreation Center, an improved Largo Central Park and a new 20,000 SF Community Center. I am presently doing new construction on the university level and since 2010 no longer live in Florida. I do miss the Sunshine State but am enjoying new adventures here in my new locale.
I have opted for the middle class lifestyle and have maintained a healthy relationship balance with wife, children and friends. I purposely choose not to become too consumed by the "American Dream", my ...Expand for more
job and success. I am content here in "middle age" of where I have been and where I am heading. My mark, while not exceeding large, has nonetheless impacted all those with whom I have come in contact in positive ways. If I were to leave earth today, while being disappointed in not having more time, I would not be disappointed in the contributions I have made to this dear old earth and those who live here. Some things will be forgotten, some will not - but the world is better because I was here and I am proud of my moments in the sun.
I am also proud of my CHS classmates, such as Alan Boss, has helped in the search for new earths in the universe. (Alan, if we screw this planet up too much we are all counting on you to find a new place! It just may take a couple of million years to travel there!) Many others in the CHS Class of 1969 have done similar things even if not on as grand a scale. Damn we're good!!!
Thanks all of you for being part of my life's story at the developing parts. A few of you have continued with me into this part of life and I have been priviledged to have done that. As we move into being grandparents now I want to say that I look back on all those many years ago when we were young with good memories.
Thanks everyone. The very best to you and to all that you do. Hook 'em horns.
