John Hand:  

Life born 1947 john francis wolfertz adopted 1950 john william hand along with two sisters maryjane and grace. lived on glenside avenue just below overlook hospital. this hapened to be about a mile down the road from thye hand homestead also on glenside avenue built in the early 1800s and is still there. first shcool i went to was on kent place blvd it was a nursery school(dont remember name but we had a pony we rode). then attende j3eferson elementary on ashwood avenue. there were sasafras trees that if you chewed on braqnches it tasted like bubble gum.also in the back of the play ground was a hill aand there was a rope that we swung on only it was ao high off the ground we=hen you swung away from the top of the hill it was about 20 feet off the ground never knew who put it there. ther is a public pool in the play ground now. also behind school is a wooded area,a dirt road went back into the woods and there where a couple of houses there. when i was older i drove my firts 50 dollar cars back there (could be still there). spent kindergarden thru 6th grade here. remember holoween parades. cristmas trees in center hall just as yooucame into school. having atom bomb drills by going to the main hall and sitting agasnst the wall with arms over head between our knees even at that age didnt understand what good it would do, it scared mme. my cousin lived just below jefferson on (baltustrol?)rd. when mom wass sick wew stayed with him. when ther i would go to the stable next door and feed horses. ther is a development ther now. this is getting a little long now so i will shorten it up. ssome time aroud i found out i had epilepsy. spent rest of child hood seeing phycia...Expand for more
