John's Story
Life
My Spouse
We met at El Paso Community College in El Paso, TX. I had worked there for two years when Gene came as the Public Safety Director for the college district in 1979. We dated for a short time, then went separate ways. We reconnected in 1985 when Gene called my mom's home in Lake Worth and I was living there with my 2 year old son. We got married in 1985 in Las Vegas, NV at the Griffith United Methodist Church on Mother's Day. I flew back to Florida until Father's Day, when Gene came to Florida and we drove back to Las Vegas.
My Pets
Our dog is actually a 91% wolf named Morning Star. She is almost eight years old and weighs approximately 130 lbs.
My Kids
My oldest is Vincent. He's 22, married to Ashley Blodgett and they have one son, Ezekiel. Zeke will be one year old on 12/18. Vince serves in the U.S. Army and is currently stationed at Fort Riley, Kansas. Vince still enjoys playing his musical instruments, but has little time with a young family and his work.

I have a stepdaughter, Gayla who turned 24 this year. Shewill graduate from North Texas State College in Dallas, TX,in December 2004.
My Job
I have been self-employed for a little over a year. When the management development company I was working for decided to close its Las Vegas office, several of the consultants decided to open their own office and invited me to join them and provide support to them. My company's name is Admin Confidential and I provide secretarial type services to two consultants, as well as to miscellaneous other clients, including bookkeeping, payroll, billing and invoicing, business plans, strategic plans, incorporation services, resident agent, and notarial services. In addition, I began teaching classes at Las Vegas College this quarter. The classes I'm teaching currently are Computer Applications, Business Law, Management Principles, and Intro to Human Resources. It's a lot of fun. The students are typically a little older than recent graduates, especially my night students.
