John's Story
Life
After school at Friars Point,enlisted in USAF served 20years.Retired at Middle Ga.and worked another 20 years on Robins AFB and retired again.Worked for Raytheon aviation for three years,paid off my house and retired for real.Lost my wife to cancer,had to get a life after about 1 year,so I took Dance classes,still dancing ballroom dances.It's a life saver and a lot of fun.
Workplace
After I retired from the Air Force,I was employed at J.C PENNY as a Auto Center Manager/salesman for two years.First job on base,electrical mod line on c-141,next,electrician on F-15's,next industrial Manufacturing/repair.Took a downgrade into Logistics Management.Retired as Program Mgr. MH-53J Pave Low Helicopter.This chopper was for SOF troops.They performed outstanding during the first Gulf War and still would be except they were retired and replaced by the CV-22 Ospery tilt wing.
Military
Entered the USAF in 1955.Served for twenty years,retired and worked civil service for twenty years at Robins AFB Ga...Expand for more
.Work for Northrop Gruman and Raytheon for another three years.Play golf every other day now,travel,dance and just enjoy life to the fullest.
School Bus trip everyday 20 miles everyday.Fun on the bus to and from school even though it was a long ride on a slow bus.
walk a full hour 5 or 6 days a week.Dance three nights a weekand Golf a couple times or more a week.
My current age is 72. When I was 12, I thought that people my age now would be very old. I was so completely wrong.
I enjoy my everyday life in the middle Georgia area.I am lucky to be surrounded by a bunch of nice people that I pal around with golfing,walking dancing and meeting for coffee and other liquids. The USA Dance chapter 6059 in Macon Supports and provides many Dancers for the Annual Stars Over Macon Ball held each 3rd Sat. of Oct.At $50.00 a head and becoming more popular each year,it's a great charity event we enjoy doing .420 Last year.The Hospice house is a very nice and one beautiful place to spend your last day's .
