John's Story

Life Born of superior Irish & Portuguese stock, John Homer is a native of Stoughton, MA. A graduate of Stoughton High School, John received his BFA (Film/Drama) from Syracuse University and earned a MS in Broadcasting while working as a technician in the Film Dept. at Boston University's College of Communications. After working various jobs in television, marketing, and sales, John started doing stand-up comedy in NYC in 2003. Now back in Massachusetts, John hopes to make a name for himself in the land of dropped Rs, baked beans, and shoddy tunnel construction. John's act features his takes on the larger multi-cultural world as viewed by a prototypical suburban male of the most white-bread town this side of Salt...Expand for more
Lake City. Rather than offensive, his wide-eyed observations point out idiosyncrasies common to all of us, regardless of race, color, gender, or sexual orientation. He has however been known to offend people of other "creeds," but he promises to quit that - as soon as he gets a definitive definition of the word "creed." John studied comedy with Mary Dimino in New York City. While still considered a "rank amateur" by his peers, John has performed at Stand Up NY, New York Comedy Club, The Brokerage, and other venues in and around NYC. In Boston he has appeared regularly at Kennedy’s Midtown, as well as various open mics and new talent showcases. John has high hopes for taking his stand-up to new heights in 2007.
