John's Story
Foreign Service brat, lived in: Buenos Aires, Argentina (Birth - 1959), Arlington, Va. (1959-1964), Manila, Philippines (1964-1967), San Salvador, El Salvador (1967-1971), Sao Paulo, Brazil (1971-1973), Brownsville, Tx (1973-Now). Wouldn't trade the experience for anything, but....I do feel like I missed the U.S. growing up. Being a kid and saying goodbye to Snickers bars, Dr. Pepper, American T.V. and toys for 2 or 3 years at a time wasn't easy.

m Texas Southmost College, and a correspondence "Radio/TV repair" diploma from National Radio Institute. In 1979 co-founded the Rio Grande Valley's first punk band, " The Terdmites", (yes, terd as in turd). Then spent 22 years at the Holiday Inn, South Padre Island as maintenance (5yrs), front desk (2yrs), night audit (7yrs), night mgr. (2yrs), and night audit again(6yrs). I may write a book about all the wonderful and horrible things I witnessed during the Spring Breaks.
