John Leopold:  

Life After high school I went to college for fine art. After approximately 10 years of being a dirt-poor, bohemian college/university student, I graduated with an MFA. After drifting around for a few years I eventually landed a teaching job that fits me like a glove. I'm currently working in Northern Minnesota at Northland College, teaching fine arts as well as martial arts and police defensive tactics. I spent a year in 2002-03 teaching art in the Baltic state of Latvia with the state department's Fulbright Program. I have a big interest in global education as well as service learning. Nearly every summer I take groups of students overseas on a travel/study programs focusing on some aspect of art. I am also a working artist and have been active in exhibiting both locally and overseas. In October 2004, I traveled to Scotland in order to hang several exhibitions, and to conduct student and faculty workshops at a College in Arbroath.
