John Lucente:  

Life; My story: Hi there, I am John Lucente, of the Lucente family of New Canaan Ct. I left New Canaan, CT in 1991 after my first year of College. I then moved to Maryland where I lived in the Potomac-Rockville area. In November of 1997 after attending other Colleges I moved to sunny Sarasota, Florida where I have lived for over 18 years. I have been to 5 different colleges and am about to begin to attend a fourth after over 12 years of not seeing a classroom. When I was 19 during my first year of college I was diagnosed with a learning disability (ADD) which affected my attention span which why I took a long break from College. I was aware of it in the early 90's, but it was not pinpointed fully until the early 2000's. It is very similar of a problem to our wealthiest American Bill Gates. It is a rare, but curable disorder which can improve over several years time, and once it is defeated, an individual with the problem can be successful like Bill Gates, as their attention span begins to improve over a period of time. Over the years I have learned to cope better with my learning disability and I am going back to College to finally finish getting my degree. I was always an A and B student in every school system I went through except one place: New Canaan High School, which was when my learning disability was getting worse, which caused my grades to slip in High School. However, after I left New Canaan High School I went to a private school for a year and made the dean's list. I also did well in all of my college courses and have a 3.5 G.P.A. For the past 20 years even though I had not completed my degree I have worked for different computer and electronics corporations. My first full time job in my early 20's was working for IBM in Pittsburgh, PA which was near the first College I went to and where my family roots are from. After that I worked for other electronics and computer corporations such as Pioneer Standard Electronics in Gaithersburg, MD, and Circuit City Inc.. I am back in College at the age of 38 and majoring in Computer Science (Computer Information Systems), Accounting and Finance, Psychology, Pharmacy, Business Administration, Land Surveillance, or Counseling. Wish me luck guys. I know it's a little late, but better late than never. I had to take a long break from college, so give me break!
