John's Story
Life
After being born at a very early age, I went through the education and military progressions you see in my profile. (Hmm-it occurs to me that maybe you cannot, unless you've gone for the Plus--OK, short version: St. Edward's HS (1966), Rice (1971), Navy (71-77)) The missing 15 years (1977-92) were spent as a practicing capitalist with Pure Castings Co. of Austin. In '92 I bailed, for a variety of

k 1999). I spent 2000-01 at Salisbury University in MD as a visiting prof, and did the same at U-Pitt at Johnstown (PA) during 2001-02. I'm married (Barbara) and we still find ourselves in one of the inner-ring suburbs in the Kansas City Metropolitan Statistical Area, her home ground. The tenure-track gig never materialized, and I remain toiling in the fields as an adjunct at Johnson County Community College teaching Physical Geography and World Regional Geography.
