John's Story

I served in the US Navy in 1969-70. Honorably discharged as "psychologically unfit for military service" (thank you very much). I tried to tell them. However, I suffer from PTSD, and continue to have problems with depression and anxiety (don't we all), Diabetes, Heart Disease (hereditary), Sleep Apnea ... but all under control with therapy, medication, exercise, and diet. I can now add Chronic Kidney Disease, Pancreatitis, no gallbladder, pre-op cataracts, and possible glaucoma (I'll find out more in November, 2019) I live in an independent living retirement home in Eau Claire, WI, with my chihuahua Senor Chiceaux "Big Papi" Major. My daughter Elisabeth and my two grandchildren Briann...Expand for more
a and Silas also live in Eau Claire. I have a BS in Computer Science & a MEd. Retired early after spending 30 years in managing academic computer centers. Politics and stress did me in. Some of you may remember my sister Barb. I'm sad to say she died in 2005. I lost my mother in 1995 (I didn't really lose her, she died). I love the rivers and ocean, the mountains and trees. I'm writing an autobiography and haiku. I watch too much TV. I have been married and divorced 3 times. Went from very, very bad to so much better. I finally figured out that I'm rather hard to live with, I remain positive, though. I am happy with my current situation and am probably the best John Major ever!

...and there on the other side, away from everything else on the other side...
My father and me. He fathered at least 6 children by 5 different women, giving me brothers and and sisters and nephews and nieces, most of whom I have just recently met---some in person, some via the internet.
