John's Story
My profile is lame because the questions don't seem to fit me. For anyone who is interested, here is who I am and what I do.
I have been married for 21 years and have two great daughters; one at Davis and one in high school. I live in Chico and teach history and government at Paradise High School.
I run to keep in shape. I love camping with my family and friends and also enjoy an annual backpacking trip in the Sierra. My biggest outdoor adventure was to climb Mt. Shasta. I also like to read, travel, go to the movies with my wife, and have friends over to talk, play games, eat, and have a few adult beverages.

after five years of living and teaching in a tiny farm town called Colusa, my next job took me back there and it has been a great place to live and raise a family.
I teach U.S. HIstory and my last unit is the 70's so I always think of Alameda and many of you when I describe to my students what living in the 70's in the Bay Area was like. Don't worry, I do not use any names!
Since none of my family lives in Alameda anymore I rarely go there anymore. It was a good place to grow up and Encinal was a good high school. I have kept in touch with a few people and have attended each ten year reunion, which I recommend to all.
Like all of you I have had good times and few not so good times as I settle into middle age. May we all do well as the future unfolds.
