John's Story
After Woodlake I went to COS until May 1990 when I decided to move to San Diego. I got a job at a cool record store. In June 1992 I moved to Sacramento for about 8 months then returned to San Diego to the same cool record store. In May of 1993 I was born again and re-dedicated myself to Christ. I eventually pursued a career as a General Manager for the chain of record stores and got my AA degree finally at Grossmont College. Between 1988-1995 I played a lot of shows and wrote music under the name of Michah. I quit playing and singing and met my wife in 1996 by putting an ad in the paper. We married in 1997 in San Diego. I attended Bethel Seminary in 1998. I was (and am) a die-hard Padres Baseball fan and enjoyed watching games between 1996-2002. 2000 we had our second daughter Grace Yvonne. In 2002 I changed careers and moved the family to Ventura California where I ran a Family Christian Bookstore in Oxnard and began a service ministry. I attended Channel Islands Bible College. My wife was working in the accounting office at our church in Ventura. In October 2005 we moved to Pomona so I could work for the family real estate office as a real estate appraiser. In 2007 we had our third daughter Hadassah Raquel. She was a premmie and was born 2 months early at 3.5 pounds. Currently we are in Pomona. We attend 1st Presbyterian Church in Pomona, where my wife is the secretary. I am praying about what ministry to get involved with or finishing seminary with the Presbyterian Church. I go back to the Woodlake area about 4 times a year since my Mom lives in Lindsay and my brother lives in Three Rivers. I have a sister who lives in Oregon.
