John's Story
Life
Im Tenor ,and sing in Robertson County Choral Society ( This year we will have 3 performances of Handels,The Messiah.and 2 solos, and Chancel Choir at church,I Play Guitar ( TakamineJJ325SRC),and G240,and love to sing all the old songs, as well as new.Drive a Lumina SS
Attended DLC Peabody College Vanderbilt,Graduated Samford University 76, worked for many years.I am very active in Rescuing Cats and Dogs.I doubt Jobs and such Are Viable info for A bio.
Love to record Music, Run My Macintosh 1Gz 80 gig now running Leopard 10.5.2 ,Preview the latest music, Work on Cantata, Listen with my I pod.Read, study, work in the rose garden. If its music ,whatever it may be Id love to hear it wherever and whenever, or singing.
I can really enjoy a nice Mocha Capochinno
If your memory is like mine, I would be the one with the guitar at night or day playing Either in front of the Student center, Or between the student center and Music Dept..I love playing to an audience of the stars. And of course many people also stopped by to listen.( And occassionally in the media room)
Fall is here and with it comes Thanksgiving,And I shall as tradition calls cook Thanksgiving dinner Baked Turkey,dressing,Broccoli and rice Casserole,Sweet Potato casserole Green Bean Casserole,some of my Home made Pecan Pepper Jelly
on Cream Cheese as an appetizer,with crackers, Rolls, and..Pecan pie with boiled custard for dessert.
Wonderful time of year, Music practices 3 or 4 times a week Christmas sampler( This year with the nutcracker theme)the trees turning Red and gold, And summer is done.
School
Playing in various bands,Concert, Marching, Rock then doing the Messiah come christmas. I suppose Peter Koss was my favorite teacher for his no nonsense approach to science physics and such, if you knew it you knew it.Thats all that mattered.You didnt have to fake intrest or attention mereley be able to know the material and ace the tests.He was a fine man and teacher.
Then again also the music teachers band directors were really good too, Noon,Mr Garret who took intrest in both in and out of class in discussing music.And of course being in the band made that particular group much closer,trips to ballgames, standing in the rain.while other people went home.

WITH DON LOFTIS, WAYNE FREE, at highrise(DLC),MAny funny nights and lake tossings,Met wonderful people who I never hope to forget and some I never wish to lose. When I transfered to Samford I went back and forth for a long time, ON one trip back to Samford by car caught fire I had to bail out the car continued exploded and burned completely with all I had
That included phone numbers addresses,Bible , Guitars clothes everything,
Some people In NAshville just assumed I dissapeared. for many months I was trapped unable to drive with next to nothing.Often I was prevented from calling through.
(It was like losing half your life)
Many nice people helped me rebuild what I lost at Samford.
I played many nights under the stars at Samford,Beautiful place,Glenn skinnard, his brother Leonard,let me catch rides and we played together as well christian Coffee houses.Lots of good friends and wonderful people none of which I wish to forget,Late nights trying to study,going to Chappel,I Took Biochemistry ( concentrated) At VAnderbilt peabody.Lots of Great people there Some of whom I dont know where they are and wish I did,The Ball games My folks came down for the Letterman concert.The people to numerous to list here
all of them Cherished and held close to your heart. Graduated in 1976 Spring.( My class would not actually graduate until LAter)I could write a lot more and may in the future.
If anyone has any then pictures, tell me, because for obvious reasons above,I lost all I had in that fire.It would be nice to get some then pictures to replace those I lost
Workplace
HM does your work define you or do you define your work?Is a job all consuming so that you end up. What is our work on this earth really,? Isnt it to do as thoureau said Let me live by the side of the road and be a friend to man,doing random acts of kindness. Since nothing on this earth is really ours and when we leave this earth we will have nothing, our true work is to be kind and compassionate to one another.Ive dont the chain, Ive done the buisiness Ive worked for the wages
But that is not your workplace , The world is our workplace and it is our job to make it better and kinder and more loving. If I have time someday I'll try to list the different places,but for now I shall record this.
