John's Story
Life
After graduating HS I went into the Marines and then into the army for the chance to see Europe, which I did. Took in the Gran Prix of Monte Carlo and toured most of southern Europe. I was an instrument flight navigation instructor in the Marines and did that at first in the Army. Later did a stint as the mail clerk in Nellingen before being transferred to Ft Sill where I was in the office of an artillery battalion. After the service worked a variety of jobs in Southern California and up in Creede. Spent time working for Norton-Triumph then drove truck for a furniture mfg. Had a job shipping for Magellan GPS before coming to Northern Idaho and am now working for the local hospital in the radiology department as a clerk. My marriages number 4 and kids ...Expand for more
2. Neither wifes nor kids could put up with me I guess. My present wife, Carolyn, has been with me for 15 years this time and put up with me for 9 the first time we were together.
We have three cats and one dog to keep us company. The best birthday present Carolyn ever gave me was to make sure we spent my 65th in Wales with my relatives and the day itself I was on top of Mount Snowdon the highest mountain in Wales. FANTASTIC!!
Over the years I have had a variety of cars including an MG Midget the took me all over Europe and an Austin Healey that saw much of the West. My ride now is a Dodge Dakota 4X4. My motorcycles included Hondas, Suzukis, BMWs and Nortons not to mention a couple of pocket bikes.
I didn't ever make much money but I sure have had a ball.
