John's Story
Life
After High School, I did a stint in college as an accounting major...very boring...not to offend any accountants. I left college, joined the Marine Corps and became an Avionics Technician and an Aerial Door Gunner/Observer on helicopters. I had a great time. The Marine Corps allowed me the opportunity to live all over the country and to travel the world.
In 1990 I completed the active portion of my tour in the Marines. I went back to school and got my Degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Illinois at Chicago. I have been working ever since. I now develop automated electro-mechanical test systems for an aerospace company in Skokie, Illinois.
I did take a break from my engineering career due to the fact that the telecom industry took a dump back in 2001. I worked in the motorcycle industry (2 Harley dealerships) for about 4 years, so I am not ...Expand for more
your typical nerdy engineer. It's funny, when you work in the retail end of the industry you never have time to ride. I went back into engineering and now you can find me out on my Harley during a lot of my free time.
I never did get married and I don't have any kids... that I know of. I do have two dogs. Bailey is a Golden Retriever/Husky mix and Jeb is a Flat-Coated Retriever/Border Collie Mix. I would have to admit that they have done a very good job of taking the place children and I wouldn't trade them for anything.
So that's the last twenty-something years of my life in a nutshell.
