John's Story
Memories of Penn Center Academy:
What a wonderful place to go to each day at age 16 in 1979. I lived on the edge of Center City and walked to and from school every day. I can still recall the sights and sounds of the city -- the SEPTA buses rumbling by, the steam from the sidewalk grates, the hotdog vendors on every corner. It was all part of my high school experience. I couldn't wait to get there every morning. The hallway conversations with my friends, Robert Rossi, Ken Hogle, Jill Bradway, Lisa Morris, and Alex Ollman were priceless. I love those guys and have nothing but fond memories of them. e 3 of us hung out a lot. Seems like every day we would get lunch from the hot dog cart, go sit over in JFK Plaza, and just talk. Then there was Jill who just seemed like the smartest girl I knew. She was my best female friend for most of my time there. Lisa was hilarious and always trying to set me up with someone. I think she introduced me to Ginger White. Remember her? Who could forget! Then there was my senior year sweetheart, Alex. She was such a free spirit and so bright. She helped me through some rough spots and I'll always be happy for the time we had together.
I still have more memories to write about, but I'll have to add those later. It's great seeing the names and faces again. My best to everyone.
