John's Story
Living in League City Texas since 1981. Retired from BP/Amoco in 2000 with 38 years of service.
Just retired from League City Little League after 36 years as a volunteer umpire.
I am currently the Little League District 14 Umpire Supervisor and the Texas East UIC for Baseball. Completed 44 years with Little League this year.
I umpired the Little League Word Series in 2002, The Euorpean Regional Tournament in Kutno Poland, the Southern Region Tournament in Florida.
Umpired in Cooperstown in 2001.
My wife passed away in 2001 after 40 years of marriage and have been widowed ever since.
Have Three children and Three grand children. Two of My children...Expand for more
live in Texas and One in Florida.
One grand daughter lives in California,one just graduated from Texas A&M university this spring and grand son lives in Florida.
Since 2006 I have been a volunteer with the LCPD putting in around 80 hours a month and serve as the operations corrdinator for all volunteers, code enforcement and police car maintenance.
In 2016 and the volunteer of the year award for League City and the volunteer award for the League City Police Department League City. Won police chiefs excellence award in 2018 and volunteer of the year again in 2019.
I am also a member of the Texas DPS academy and the Galveston County Sheriff's Academy.
