John's Story
Life
I obtained my BA at Pomona College (1975) and an MBA at UCLA (1979). Then I had a business career from 1979 through 1997, with just a little time off to reorient during 1988 and 1989. After 1997 I "got off the bus". The plan was to work into a different career by doing some volunteer work for several organizations that I admired. I did do some of that, but tumbled into a major voluntee...Expand for more
r time commitment, as a director and officer of a nonprofit corporation, for two years, and by then (late 2001) the economy looked pretty bleak, especially for someone of my age trying to change careers. So here I am still doing a lot of volunteer work, but that's really not such a bad thing! In addition, a Web site design hobby gradually turned into a (very) small business. I never married.
